your home away from home in beautiful Belize.

Located in the small Central American country of Belize, Midas Tropical Resort sits on 7 acres of property amidst pristine forests on the banks of the beautiful Macal River in the Cayo District. It is ideally situated on the Branch Mouth Road, which is just five walking minutes away from San Ignacio Town. This location makes it easily accessible from the downtown area to those either on foot or in vehicles.

Your hostess Maria Preston, invites you to experience nature at its best at our "in town yet out of town" tropical hideaway.

We have created a clean, natural and beautiful environment where our guests, which includes families, couples, individuals and groups, can relax, feel at home and have a good time. We have also made it very affordable. We strive to meet your needs in whatever way we can. We hope you will come stay with us in Belize.

At Midas Tropical Resort we offer a variety of accommodations to suit families, groups, couples and individuals. Various activities and tours are available to meet your interests. We also have a restaurant serving local meals for guests.
 

Accommodations:

At Midas there are 13 private units, some of which are capable of sleeping up to four guests. You can choose either a cabana or cottage or use our campground. All cabanas and cottages contain private bathroom facilities with hot and cold water showers and twenty-four hour electricity.
Cottages: Our cottages are cool and airy with screened windows and either thatched or corrugated iron roofs. They have lighted walkways and areas with shaded hammocks - the perfect place for an afternoon nap or just relaxing. Some also have private verandahs. Inside you will find double beds and ceiling fans.
Cabanas Our wooden cabanas are designed to envelop you in a cool tropical setting. They each have private verandahs which offer a great place for reading or resting. Inside you will find beautifully treated wooden floors, and double beds, with fans and screened windows.

Restaurant

Join us for home cooked Belizean meals in our family style restaurant set under an open-air palapa.

Park benches and tables make up the eating area, which is in tune with the natural surroundings. We are happy to cater to the needs of your children.

The restaurant serves both breakfast and dinner specials at affordable prices. An assortment of snacks and sandwiches are available for lunch. Fresh fruit juices are also on the menu.
 

Activities

With the beautiful Macal River just 200 yards away from your door and exotic bird species just outside your window, you will have no problem finding something to do on your own. You can go bird watching, swimming, canoe, float on an inner tube, or just relax.

You can also go on various organized tours.

1. Experience our great canoe trip taking you 14 miles down the Macal River to visit bird and other animal habitats.

2. Go tubing down the Macal to the Branch Mouth area where the Macal and Mopan Rivers meet and form the Belize River.

3. Go to Cristo Rey Water Falls and stand under the invigorating water for a relaxing massage.

We can also arrange tours to nearby Maya Ruins, medicinal rainforest trails, horseback riding and cave adventures. Just let us know your interests.

For your convenience our souvenir shop stocks a variety of handmade Belizean crafts like handbags, hammocks, souvenirs and wall decorations.

Rates do not include 9% Hotel Tax.
Children under 12 stay free. 12 years and older are charged the regular adult price.

Cancellation Policy:
If cancellation is made 30 days before expected date of arrival a levy of $30.00 will be charged. Cancellations 15 to 8 days prior to arrival a 50% charge will be made. 7 days or less prior to arrival the total amount will be charged.
