Flying: You will arrive at the Guadalajara International Airport. It is an easy thirty minute trip to get from the airport to Casa del Sol in Ajijic. You can either take a taxi or rent a car from one of several agencies at the airport. There is a map with more detailed directions on our website.

Driving from the Airport: As you leave the airport, stay in the right hand lane. Bear right, heading south to Lake Chapala on Highway 23 (there is a sign saying "Chapala"). You will be on a divided 4-lane highway. About 25 minutes later you will be climbing the mountains. As you come down them you will see a sign pointing to the right to Jocotepec and Ajijic. Take that turn off to the right.

You are now on an undivided 2-lane road which in a few miles will dead end at a stop light where you will turn to the right. Shortly you will pass beneath a beautiful canopy of trees a few blocks long (in a neighborhood called "La Floresta") and emerge by a PEMEX gas station.

In Ajijic, many of the streets that cross the main highway, called the "Carretera", are one-way and several of them have stop lights with NO LEFT TURN signs (a recent modern encroachment!!).

At the PEMEX station, turn left onto Aldama Street (you are allowed to turn left here).

Go downhill (south) toward the lake until you reach the third cross street. This is 16 de Septiembre - turn right here.

Drive to the second street and turn right - this is M. Blanco, which turns into Javier Mina (one-way street). Continue up this street past the first cross street. Then ½ block on the left is Casa del Sol at Javier Mina #7.

You will see a sign and plaque for Casa del Sol. You may park onl on the left side of the street. Please ring the bell located by the entrance gate. If you desire, we can make arrangements for off-street secure parking just around the corner for a small daily fee.
