Improve your Search Engine Ranking
Three Million competitors:
Type in the search term "Bed and Breakfast" in Yahoo, and the first page will show there are 3,010,000 listings to choose from. Yes, THREE MILLION pages competing for the term "Bed and Breakfast"! How on earth can you get your web site anywhere near the top?

A Complex Issue:
Don't worry if you don't understand some of the terminology used below, by the time you get to the end, you'll have a much better understanding than you do right now.

Priority #1:
A quality site, with a well ordered link structure. The buzz word for search engines these days is "relevancy". Keep your site highly relevant to your business, property, town, and state or province. If possible place your full address at the top, and bottom of your pages.

Use Sub-heads:
Search engines give a higher priority to headings and sub-heads. Where possible, place important features such as your property address and nearby attractions in bold text.

Don't Use Frames:
Search Engines have difficultly categorizing sites which use frames, avoid them if you can.

Avoid Dynamic Content:
Search engines prefer static content. Sure those animated opening pages look "cool", but search engines don't like them.

Search Engines like text:
Text can be incorporated into graphics, for a very stylish appearance. However, search engines can not read text embedded in a graphic. Text which is highly important to a page should "stand-alone" if possible.

Search Engines like links:
Make sure each and every one of your pages link to the others in your site. There should be no "dead-ends" where links go in, but not out.

Link to other sites:
Reciprocal links to other sites help to improve your ranking. Search engines consider that sites with numerous links must be important, and consequently rank them higher. It follows that the more Accommodation Directories you are listed with, and have links from, the higher your own site will rank.

Put keywords on all pages:
Optimize all of your pages in the same way as you do the home page. Most people mistakenly believe it is only necessary to optimize and place meta tags on the main page.

Why you need Accommodation Directories:
Many Innkeepers believe the only thing that's important, is having their property rank high for their city and local area. That may be okay to attract local customers to your own site, but the job of a good accommodation directory is to bring you customers from many other places, including other countries.

Why we optimize our Search Terms:
We researched the multitude of search terms which potential customers may originate from. For example, when looking for a short break, the tired city dweller may search for "Bed and Breakfast Weekend Getaways", or perhaps "Romantic Getaways". Overseas visitors may type in "USA Bed and Breakfasts". We recognized this, and optimized our site to take advantage of this.

Here's a few of our rankings taken at random:
