The Frisco Lodge is the
longest ongoing lodging facility in the heart of the Rocky Mountains
in Summit County, Colorado. It was originally built in 1885 as a stagecoach stop
and soon became a way station for passengers and crew traveling on the Denver
and Rio Grande Railroad. The lodge retains the ambiance of a past era, while
providing easy access to the many wonders nearby and to the vast recreational
opportunities of the present.
The Lodge and our central location in the historic district provides easy
access to Frisco's finest dining, shopping, and nightlife. Everything is an
easy stroll down Main Street. The Lodge innkeepers, who live
on-site, are long time Summit County residents with a special flair for
accommodating guests and providing local insights. Our staff are experienced
cyclists, mountaineers, trekkers, and adventurers. We can give you advice on
local attractions, info on cycling and hiking trails and provide maps if needed,
suggestions on little known gems of the area, and local tips about the region.
Each morning, guests awaken to our delicious gourmet, buffet breakfast
including: Belgian waffles, hot or cold cereal, breakfast sausages, scrambled
eggs, fresh fruit, fresh bread, pastries, toast, coffee, orange juice, and tea.
As you savor breakfast, please enjoy yourself in our cozy living room, in our
courtyard, on our observation deck overlooking the Eagles Nest Wilderness Area,
with the morning paper, and with friends and guests from around the world.
Each afternoon after the day's adventures, a day relaxing or shopping, or a
myriad of other possibilities, guests return to the Lodge to enjoy afternoon
snacks which include fresh, homemade cookies and lemonade, tea or coffee. And
you may enjoy our scenic decks overlooking the Wilderness Areas and our gardens
to relax and enjoy our surroundings! As the day is waning, relax
in our outdoor hot tub overlooking our courtyard. Visit with new-found friends
on one of our outdoor decks and patios overlooking our gold medal winning native
flower and water gardens or under the stars as the evening unfolds. There is no
better way to unwind from your day's adventures.
