Buena Vista, Colorado, sits in the heart of the Rockies; Chaffee County is Fourteener country, home to more mountains exceeding 14,000 feet than any other Colorado county. From our decks and windows, you're rewarded with breathtaking views of several of the "Fourteeners" in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. Majestic Mt. Princeton seems practically on top of our bed and breakfast inn.

You'll find a Colorado vacation paradise in the Fourteener region with almost every kind of Buena Vista outdoor activity conveniently located. In the winter, ski at nearby Monarch. In the summer, try hiking, biking, exploring ghost towns, kayaking or white water rafting on the Arkansas River. Many say it's the whitewater capital of the country.

Hike the Colorado Trail and Rocky Mountains, visit Michael Martin Murphey's Singing Cowboy Ranch, and relax in nearby hot springs.

When you travel to Buena Vista, you'll find special accommodations at our Colorado bed and breakfast. Sawatch Vistas was built in 1999-2000 by Nancy and Dan. The specially designed Southwestern-styled home and lodging offers a cordial welcome to the discriminating traveler. It's family-friendly, (children over 5, please). Since there aren't any stairs and the lodging is all on one floor, it's especially appealing to senior citizens. And the special design provides privacy for all guests. The atmosphere is casual and quiet, the people are friendly - it's an experience to share and remember.

Located in the center of Colorado, Buena Vista is only 2 hours drive from Colorado Springs and about 3 hours drive from Denver. The property sits in the broad, flat valley of the Arkansas River, acclaimed for superb river rafting. History of the area includes mining stories and legends and visitors can step back in time to visit mining ghost towns including nearby St. Elmo.

Reservations: A 50% deposit (or 1 night's stay, whichever is larger) is guaranteed by credit card (Master card or Visa) when reservations are made. Checks and cash are also accepted at time of check out. 

Cancellations: All cancellations are charged a $15.00 cancellation fee. If the cancellation is at least 2 weeks prior to the arrival date, refund amount is deposit minus the $15.00 fee. If cancellation occurs within 2 weeks before arrival date, deposit is forfeited unless the room is rebooked.
