Angel’s Watch Inn Bed and Breakfast is a stately property by Horace Kelsey for his family homestead in about 1880. The property on which the Inn stands is rich with history. "Deeded to Samuel Bates in the Twenty-sixth reign of Queen Anne of England, Scotland, Wales and France". In 1737 Robert Bates Deeded the property to Ephram Kelsey and it remained in the Kelsey Family for over 150 years.

The Barry-Millspaugh family bought the homestead in 1986 and made it into a Bed and Breakfast.  In 1994, major restorations began to restore the home to her original beauty.

The grounds are very tranquil and peaceful. Park benches are placed in the front of the home where you may sit and watch the world go by. A private park like yard is in the back of the house. Wicker baskets, grills,  and picnic tables are available for guests use. We are just one and one half block from West Beach on Long Island Sound. You are assured complete privacy because the owners quarters are detached from the Inn. Each room has a wicker basket filled with beach blankets, towels and beach passes. 

Upon Entering the Inn you are surrounded by comfortable elegance. There are numerous antiques and the decor has the charm and tranquility of yesteryear with the added comfort and convenience of today. The Angel's Watch Inn is the perfect spot for small private or corporate functions.  Give us a call and let us help you plan your special event.

We are just a stone’s throw from the Westbrook Town Green, West Beach and the Marina District. Within close proximity of many beautiful shoreline New England towns such as Old Saybrook, Old Lyme, Essex, Chester, Deep River, Haddam, East Haddam, Clinton, Madison, and Guilford. 

We are convenient to many local attractions, such as Tanger Outlets of Westbrook, Clinton Crossing Premium Outlets, The Griswold Inn, Goodspeed Opera House, Gillette’s Castle, New England Steamboat and Essex Valley Railroad, Saybrook Point Inn, Waters Edge, Camelot Cruises, and Murder Mystery Cruises.

Within a short drive of fine restaurants, marinas, golf courses, beaches, art galleries, specialty shops, antique shops, movie theaters. Within 30 minutes you can be touring Mystic Seaport, enjoying the Mystic Aquarium or trying your luck at the Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun Casinos.

We are also centrally located within two hours of both New York City and Boston. One hour and fifteen minutes from Providence, RI, fifty minutes from Hartford and under forty minutes from New Haven.

Cancellation Policy: If you must cancel your reservations, please notify us 14 days prior to your arrival date. Holidays on both week days, weekends and special events require a three week cancellation notice. If we cannot fill your vacancy your credit card will be charged for the total amount of time you reserved, and an additional $25 service fee per room is charged. There are not credits for late check-in or early check-out.
