We are lucky enough to have beautiful, panoramic ocean views, while being located "off the beaten path" in a coffee farming area. Surrounded by big trees and tropical fruits, the peacefulness of our area is calming and one has the feeling of stepping back in time. Our town is a small community of local Hawaiians, Japanese and others with small to medium farms, growing coffee, macadamia nuts and various tropical fruits. Kealakekua Bay is perfect for snorkeling and kayaking and there is a great hiking trail to Captain Cook monument.

South Kona has many local shops, great restaurants and gift stores. Go golfing or deep-sea fishing nearby. Visit any of many historical sites, macadamia nut factories or working coffee plantations. An active volcano is located just 1-1/2 hrs. away, as well as Mauna Kea, where you can ski in season or gaze at the stars.

  Kona is "Coffee Country"  —

The South Kona area in particular is known for the excellent coffee it produces, and the great views of Kealakekua Bay.

Cedar House Bed & Breakfast and Coffee Farm is deep in the heart of Coffee country. Our 2,500 trees flourish on three acres of prime land with a backdrop view of the Pacific Ocean. Our coffee is home grown, hand picked, and sun dried. 

The perfect climate of glorious sunny mornings, cloudy afternoons, and cool nights insures a perfect crop each year. Careful pruning and fertilization throughout the year is strictly controlled to bring you the best coffee ever.

Roasting is a critical part of the process - our beans are roasted to perfection, to bring out the full-bodied flavor that Kona Coffee is justifiably famous for. Immediately after roasting, our beans are packaged and shipped to your order. all around the world!

Our roasted coffee carries the Seal of Approval of the Kona Coffee Council for 100% Kona Coffee.

Quality Accommodation:

Ulu room - a favorite with families. This room has ocean and coffee farm views and is beautifully appointed in Hawaiian style, with a king bed, single bed, and private bathroom. Rate $95 per night plus tax.($10 charge for extra person).
 


 

The Pikaki Room

Pikake Rose room - our "Honeymoon Suite". This ground floor room is romantic and airy, with ocean and coffee farm views. The large, comfortable room is popular with couples, honeymooners and can also accommodate families. Rate $85 per night plus tax. ($10 charge for extra person).

Pacific room - located on the top floor, this room offers a wonderful view of the Pacific Ocean. With a queen bed , and an overstuffed easy chair,  its a cozy room. This room shares a bathroom. Rate $75 per night.

European room - (photo not shown) also located on the top floor. This is our least expensive room, furnished with a fresh flowers European theme. Rate $70 per night plus tax.

The Hibiscus Suite - beautifully appointed 2-bedroom, 2-story apartment with bathroom with shower. The suite features a spacious open-plan kitchenette, equipped with fridge (with small freezer) double hotplate, toaster oven, coffee maker and full sink. Ready to cook!
$110, daily rate per couple. $10 per extra person 4 night min stay.
$660 weekly rate. $1980 per month.

Our Cottage:

The Cottage offers our guests lots of privacy and a less rigid routine for breakfast. Please ask us for details on our non-hosted breakfast service.

2 bedrooms, full kitchen , living /dining room with TV, VCR and CD player , pull out double futon. Covered deck (lanai) with outside dining and porch swing. 
Daily Rate $110 per night per couple , $10 per extra person. 4 night min stay.
Weekly rate $660 per week ( 7 nights)
$1980 per month.

Rates based on double occupancy.
One night stays at owners discretion, slight surcharge.
All rooms have cable TV.
We accept cash, travelers' checks, MC and Visa.
We require a 50% deposit of stay. Your deposit will be returned, less a $20.00 booking fee if you cancel at least 21 days prior to expected arrival from March to November, and 6 weeks from Dec through February.
We welcome well behaved children. Extra beds are available for extra person in room ($10 per day extra).
Smoking is not permitted indoors.
Snorkeling and beach equipment provided.

How to find

Directions:

Captain Cook is 25 minutes from Kailua-Kona and 35 minutes from Keahole Kona International Airport.

From Keahole Airport-Kona, turn right onto Highway 19 South. This road becomes Route 11 after Kailua-Kona. Look for green mile markers on the left hand side.

When you reach mile marker 110 in Captain Cook , turn up the hill onto Kiloa Rd. Go to the very top of this road (1/2 mile), the lane turns from a 2-lane to a single lane.

At the top, turn right on Kinue Rd, follow this winding road (1/2 mile) until you reach the next junction at Greenwell Mountain Rd. Turn left at Greenwell Mountain. Rd, then left again at Bamboo Rd. Cedar House is located on the left hand side of Bamboo Rd.
