Voted: "Most Historical Charm" & "One of Kentucky's finest B&B's"

Thomas McElroy built this beautiful Greek Revival Plantation Home
on nearly 600 acres and presented it as a Wedding Gift to his young bride, Sarah Maxwell. Lavished with numerous architectural features, it is accented with Italianate detail, spans over 7,000 sq. ft., with 14' ceilings, 12' doorways, 9' windows, 13 original rooms - most are 20' x 20' with some even larger, and a grand cherry floating spiral staircase.1851 Historic Maple Hill Manor's colorful past includes stories of an Antebellum Plantation, use as a Confederate Hospital, the Childhood Home to Phil Simms - former NY Giants Quarterback and Super Bowl XXI's MVP, a popular Dinner Hall, and Children's Home. Today it is a nationally-recognized Bed & Breakfast, Wedding/Special Events Showplace, Alpaca & Llama Farm, and Handcrafted Gift Gallery.

This working farm is stately set on 14 tranquil acres in the heart of Kentucky's scenic Bluegrass Region (an hour southeast of Louisville and an hour southwest of Lexington), and the home is considered one of the best preserved Antebellum Homes in the Commonwealth.

For your comfort, each of the seven guest rooms are air conditioned and have private baths in the rooms. Guest rooms are spacious, airy and warmly decorated.

Breakfast is normally served between 8 - 10:00 a.m. unless other arrangements have been made.
Awaken to the delightful strains of chamber music and the wafting aromas of freshly brewed coffee and hot-from-the-oven muffins, as the day begins with a specially prepared breakfast served on fine china in the dining room. The centerpiece of the dining room is a mural that was hidden under wallpaper for years. The mural depicts the house as it appeared in 1851.We can comfortably seat all of our guests around the main table that extends to ten feet long.

Listed on the National Register of
Historic Places and considered a Kentucky Landmark Home.

In the evening, relax with us under the soft light of the elegant chandelier and enjoy a complimentary homemade dessert and beverage. A spacious parlor/communal area filled with beautiful antique furnishings, offers cozy surroundings for a game of cards, puzzle making or curling up with a good book, in front of the wood-burning fireplace.

Outside you will find a large patio area set among old maple trees. Numerous bird feeders are located near the house attracting a variety of songbirds. A picnic table and grill are available for guest use. Depending on the crop, guests are encouraged to pick a bag of apples from the 100 tree apple orchard. Located adjacent to our barn is our gift shop.

Alpaca & Llama Farm and Handcrafted Gift Gallery:
Enjoy our Farm - we have 14 acres which includes an Orchard of 100+ Fruit Trees, 200+ Raspberry Bushes, and a Nature Preserve. We also raise Alpacas, Llamas, Pygmy Goats and of course cats and dogs!
