The Black Duck, a bed and breakfast inn, is
located in the tranquil, Downeast fishing village of Corea, overlooking one
of the most picturesque harbors in Maine, islands and the open ocean. Our
four guest rooms and two waterfront cottages offer a retreat from the
hassles of daily city life.
We have twelve acres to explore with wonderful
rock outcrops offering places to sit and read, paint or just search the
skies for a glimpse of a soaring eagle while watching the harbor or the sea
beyond. We have wild blueberries and cranberries to pick, if you're here
when they're ripe. When hiking, you might come upon our hidden tidal bay and
salt marshes which are terrific spots to bird watch. Read more about our
village in the Smithsonian Magazine.

There are sand beaches within an easy walk
from the house, and a fresh water pond within a short drive, we can also
arrange kayaking tours and bicycle rentals from a nearby business - Schoodic Tours or Moose Look Guide Service. We are only a few miles from
the Schoodic section of Acadia National Park. We're also close to other
wildlife sanctuaries as well as public golf courses, antique shops, an
organic farm (Darthia) and several restaurants.
We're well located to serve as a central
point for a variety of day trips including Bar Harbor and its hustle and
bustle; the art galleries and crafts of Blue Hill; or the history and
grandeur of FDR's home in Campobello, as well as the seaport towns of
Eastport and Lubec.
We cater to adults, but we will accept
pre-toddlers and children over 8. Since we have a variety of pets of our
own, who will more than make you welcome, we must request that yours be
left at home. We are a non-smoking house. This is a wonderful part of the
world to relax in, read, paint, photograph, hike, bike and explore.
