The Harbour Cottage Inn is one of the most historic destinations on the island and is a casual and elegant 1870's Victorian bed and breakfast. The Inn was built as a part of the Island House, a 250 room hotel which was the first summer hotel on Mount Desert Island.

The Inn is located atop Dirigo Hill overlooking the picturesque waters of Southwest Harbor, Maine, just minutes away from Bar Harbor and the world famous Acadia National Park. Located near center the center of town, the Inn is within walking distance of wonderful restaurants, shopping, marinas, and lobster wharves. Southwest Harbor is renowned for its quiet seaside village, friendly folks, and breathtaking landscape.

For 2 to 150 guests we can offer a cozy and relaxed service, lobster bake, to a fully catered black tie affair on the magnificent gracious lawn of the Harbour Cottage Inn - from marriage licenses to the music, we can offer our assistance and make your wedding day a most memorable experience.

The Harbour Cottage Inn is the perfect setting for family and other gatherings and events. The ambiance of this historic 1850's inn is charming, elegant and relaxed. Come celebrate a wedding, anniversary, birthday, graduation or family reunion. The entire inn can house up to 30 people comfortably. You may choose to plan a stay for your guests in our charming suites or beautiful rooms and be pampered by our friendly and talented staff. In addition our capable staff stands ready to offer you the perfect option for your private cocktail party, luncheon, dinner, in addition to our home cooked and creative breakfast served daily and included in our room rates. Deposits:- Upon making your reservations, a deposit of one night's stay is required. The deposit is fully refundable provided notice is given at least twenty-one (21) days prior to the scheduled arrival date .
