Features and Attractions

River’s Edge furnishings are hand crafted by
Heartwood, a local group of artists, from local countryside wood. -
Each room is unique and comfortable as five of the
rooms have a separate porch area, while other rooms have cathedral
ceilings.

Each room
portrays a different theme honoring a specific tree. There are nine
different trees represented in suites throughout the lodge. For
instance, there is the Birch Room, the Silver Maple Room, and the
American Hornbeam Room .

Every room
at the River’s Edge has a double Jacuzzi, a fireplace, and TV/VCR.

A Unique Property with Original Furnishings
At Rivers Edge, the most difficult decision
you will have to make is how to spend your day. Imagine beaches that
stretch for miles, sand dunes that are like small mountains, clear blue
waters, lakes and rivers for boating. Canoeing and fishing near
the wineries, outlet malls, antique shops, boutiques, great restaurants
and best beaches. |

Spend the day golfing, horseback riding, charter boating or apple
picking. Many local festivals are schedule throughout the year. Take a
short ride to the outlet malls only 20 minutes away!
The Union Pier area is unique because it
not only boasts a lakeside location, but it is close enough to enjoy the
many special
 attractions offered in the
nearby communities of Michigan City, Grand Beach, New Buffalo, Lakeside, Harbert,
Sawyer, and Three Oaks.
Guests can easily travel to the Warren
Dunes, the Amish community, or to downhill ski resorts. Furthermore,
the Inn is a five-block walk or a three-minute bicycle ride to the
lakefront and private beach. We supply the bikes, canoes, wildlife and a
full hot homemade country breakfast.
Located on 30 acres
bordering the Galien River, you can walk along the river bank or on the trails that lead through the woods.
Stay on the high grounds where you can pick apples and peaches, where
chestnut trees are plentiful in the orchard. |

The area is unique both in it's lakeside location and it's many special
attractions offered in the small communities of Union Pier, New Buffalo,
and Lakeside. Rivers Edge furnishings are made by local
artisans. Heartwoods RusticFurnishings has made all the beds- A local
artist group that has a fantastic shop in Lakeside--Don't miss it!!!
Each room has beds and furnishings handcrafted from woods of the local
countryside.
Whether you pick one of the three rooms
with the separate porch area or one of the rooms that have cathedral
ceilings, you will have luxurious surroundings. Rivers E dge is a great
place to have your special ooccasion.

Bed and Breakfast is a 70-minute drive or train ride from downtown
Chicago, 3 hours from Indianapolis, and 3.5 hours from Detroit.
Cancellation Policy: $10 USD Processing
Fee, 50% less than 7 days prior.
Directions:
I94 to Michigan’s Exit 6 (Union Pier). Go west
on Townline Road 1 mile. At the flashing light turn left onto Red Arrow
Highway. Go 6 blocks; turn left onto Community Hall Road. River’s Edge
is 3 blocks on the right.
