This Tudor-revival took Red Wing Shoes President J.R. Sweasey two years to build (1932-1934), and he spared no detail. It reflects his eye for quality and is beautifully decorated with walnut, oak, cherry and maple wood. Each suite features a private bath, most have double whirlpools and some have fireplaces. Common areas abound; the outdoor patio, with stone fireplace, is the ultimate in relaxation.

The Golden Lantern is located near hiking, biking and cross country ski trails. Three Mississippi River parks are a short distance away and four 18-hole golf courses are nearby as well.

Business Retreats: The entire first floor of the Golden Lantern Inn B&B is available as meeting space. When weather allows, the stone porch and backyard offer additional gathering areas. We can supply audio/visual or other materials you might need, and we will provide refreshments. We also will arrange for catered lunches or dinners.

If you have a need for larger facilities, we work closely with other establishments in town and can arrange a memorable outing for your entire group. In addition, the Golden Lantern Inn offers security. When you arrive at the Inn, you’ll receive a key to the front door and to your room. Without that key, you don’t get in without the owners’ knowledge. We don’t allow people to simply walk in and wander through the house like you’d expect at most hotels and motels.

Group outings and weddings: The next time you seek a fun get-away for a larger group of family or friends, look no further than the Golden Lantern Inn. The entire first floor of the Golden Lantern Inn is available as gathering space. When the weather allows, the stone porch and backyard offer additional gathering areas.

We can provide refreshments for your gathering. We also will arrange for catered lunches or dinners so you can stay at the Inn rather than attempting to secure reservations for a large group at a restaurant.

If you have a need for larger facilities, we work closely with other Red Wing, Minnesota, bed and breakfasts and can arrange a memorable outing for your entire group.

Quiet get-away: What we offer is peace and quiet in a secure environment. No semi-trucks pulling in during the middle of the night. No roomfuls of rowdy kids spilling out into the hallway. And no neon lights flashing outside your window.

Cancellation Policy: 48-hour cancellation policy for Sunday through Thursday, 14-day policy for Friday and Saturday stays.
