Dr. A. B. Hawley, who had practiced medicine in Red Wing for many years, built Moondance Inn in 1874. The main house has over seven thousand square feet of space and encompasses two city lots on a hill overlooking Red Wing. The house is made entirely of eighteen-inch thick limestone block quarried locally.

The entrance of Moondance Inn has 12-foot ceilings, fantastic chandeliers, and a sweeping staircase. The living room is the size of a small hotel lobby with hard wood floors of oak and walnut. A huge fireplace to keep you warm on a cold winter's night and walls that actually shimmer. The antique furnishings beautifully complement the room and are quite comfortable allowing for leisurely conversation or simply relaxing with a fine book.

This magnificent home is a 10-minute leisurely stroll to great antique shopping, fine restaurants, and the Mississippi River. There are numerous walking trails along the river and in the nearby hills. Some examples are Baypont Park and the trail on Barn Bluff. Downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, and golf are all within a 15-minute drive.

An original tin ceiling and light colored maple hardwood floors are found in the 2-person whirlpool room with private bath. Vivid blue and gold colors form the backdrop for numerous pieces of art.

The entire 3rd floor (1,500 sq. feet) of the Moondance Inn Bed and Breakfast was specifically created for private business retreats or social functions.

Whether meeting around the conference tables or casually discussing strategies by the large fireplace, you and your associates will have room to work.  There are multiple fax, modem, and phone lines for your use. A large video monitor and VCR is permanently set up.

Light colored knotty pine planks run from floor to ceiling as you walk lengthwise down the room. Each end wall is exposed limestone block (the material used to build the entire house) with large arched windows. A classic fireplace dominates one end of the space. Maximize the creativity of any group by using an environment created solely for that purpose.

Price for a 4-hour meeting with coffee/pastry or soft drinks and snack service is $125.00.  Price for a full day with coffee/pastry service in the morning and soft drinks and snacks in the afternoon is $200.00.  A full lunch service can be provided for an additional fee.
 

Cancellation Policy: There is a $25.00 re-booking fee for all cancellations. If cancellation occurs within 14 days of your reservation date we will do our best to fill the room. If we are unable to do so we will charge your credit card the full amount of the room
