Two Historic Bed and
Breakfast Country Inns in
the Minneapolis-Saint Paul, Minnesota Metropolitan Area

What Sets Us Apart
Suite Dreams
Guests in our Rosewood "ultimate suites" tell us they never slept better and ask
us why. It could be Rosewood magic, but it's probably the combination of our
famous Duxianna mattresses, handcrafted in Sweden, and our Nikken "therm
quilts", which are activated by your own body temperature and adjust to keep you
comfortable without overheating or getting too cool. If you can no longer live
without them after sleeping with us, we can arrange your purchase! Don't say we
didn't warn you - they are fabulous.
The Fire - Water Combination
In all of our guestrooms priced $167 or higher, you'll find a whirlpool tub big
enough for two. Then you'll find either a fireplace that you can see from both
the bed and the whirlpool or two fireplaces in your room. Our guests told us
this is what they were looking for, and so we've redone our rooms so that all of
them have these same amenities.
Inn-joy Breakfast to your schedule,
in-suite if you choose
Not to brag, but our sumptuous three-course breakfasts have been praised far and
wide. Assorted fresh fruit with creamy fruit sauce, and Swiss biscuit eggs with
fresh dill are followed with caramel apple bread pudding. But some guests think
the best part of our breakfast is having it served to their room, at the time
they request. Of course, we gladly set a table for you in the dining rooms or
parlors.
We don't want to tell you everything and spoil the surprise, but we should let
you know you'll be able to satisfy your after-hours sweet tooth or ice-cream
cravings...yes, we believe that food is love!
Hungry? Now you can check in and
never leave us!
We heard so many moans and groans about having to leave the inn that now we
offer dinner in your suite or the parlors. It's an extremely popular option
with our repeat guests, who know they want to stay inn-doors! Choose from pasta
torte, individual Beef Wellington, or orange-glazed Cornish hens, or a more
casual soup and bread supper of Cabbage and Chicken Panade. Just give us 24
hours advance notice. Actually, since we'll deliver your breakfast to your
room, too, you never have to leave it until check-out, if you choose.

Menu for In-House Dining

Did you know that we also do
dinner for our guests? We are not a restaurant, so this experience is very
private. Sometimes, once guests see the Inn, they cannot imagine leaving, so we
are becoming famous for this intimate experience. The all-inclusive dinners may
be served in your suite or in the formal spaces at either inn. Imagine no
interruptions, romantic music, soft light, a crackling fire and the two of
you...

Simple
Supper
After many requests, the "simple supper" offering at the Inns
has been expanded. In 2004 in addition to our famous Chicken and Cabbage Panade
with French Bread, five more hearty soups and specialty breads are offered.
This offering will also include a seasonal salad and help yourself (as
always) to the cookie jar and ice cream freezer)
Imagine settling into your suite and starting a nice fire in the
fireplace, maybe waiting for the massage therapists to knock. Enjoy a heavenly
massage to soft music and a room set aglow by the burning logs. Then shortly
after a full body massage and chance to reflect and
relax, the aroma of warm bread and your favorite soup floats up.
-
Vegetarian chili with Avocado Salsa
-
Polpetti (sirloin meatballs) and orzo in broth
-
Creamy wild rice with smoked turkey
-
Tomato basil and grilled cheese sandwich
-
Red potato and salmon chowder
-
Chicken and cabbage panade
All simple suppers are priced for two and served in a large
tureen with almost 3 servings each. (We said simple,
not light) Pick up at the kitchen window to your schedule. Choose to enjoy in
your suite or at any table for two in the inn as there is no table service with
this casual offering.
$35 for two includes salad of the day and season,
specialty bread and help yourself to the pantry cookies and/or ice cream.
Just give us 24 hours advanced notice and we will prepare for
you a wonderful, delicious dinner for two. If you are
with us a few days and decide to dine in, don't hesitate to ask if we can do it
for you on shorter notice.
We do not have a liquor license, so you may bring your own if
you are so inclined. We would be happy to chill it for you.
