Tucked into a quiet mountain canyon, the
Desert Willow
Bed & Breakfast is a nature-lovers' delight! |
|
Desert Willow offers
two wonderful rooms each with
a private bath, a queen sized bed, and two comfy chairs for reading or chatting.
The rooms are decorated in an eclectic style with original contemporary art, and
the bathrooms have Mexican tile accents.
Our rooms share a guest sitting room with satellite TV, a small library of books
and a telephone.
The B&B is on the Jemez River and surrounded by beautiful gardens and
National Forest lands. You may have morning coffee on the patio overlooking the
rive r and enjoy the sounds of moving water and singing birds. After a generous
gourmet breakfast, spend your days exploring 200,000 acres of National
Recreation lands with trails for hiking, biking and cross country skiing.
Take a driving
tour through the area to see many cultural and
geological wonders, such as the
Jemez State Monument, preserving the ruins of a
17th century Spanish mission and 13th century Indian pueblo. Past volcanic
activity has created many natural hot springs, sulfurous vents and the caldera
in the nearby Valle Grande. After a long hike or a day on the slopes, you may
indulge yourself in a massage and a soak at our local
Jemez Springs Bath House fed by natural hot
springs.
Summer or winter, rain, shine or snow, the Desert
Willow Bed and Breakfast is an easy and relaxing drive from Albuquerque, Santa
Fe, Los Alamos or anywhere! Conveniently situated along the Jemez Mountain
Trail, the roads are carefully maintained so that access is rarely a problem.
The Jemez Mountain Trail has been designated a National Scenic Byway and is a
treat in itself, winding through gorgeous scenery, past the Valle Grande, which
is one of the world's largest calderas (a crater-like basin of a volcano). Come
and enjoy the wonders of the Jemez Mountains; one of the reasons why New Mexico
is called the Land of Enchantment.
