Hacienda Vargas is a
traditional adobe hacienda in the village of Algodones, which is
conveniently located BETWEEN Albuquerque and Santa Fe. Situated on the
historical "El Camino Real" Trading Route and Route 66, it is the former
site of both a stagecoach and a train stop.
Its convenient location makes the
Hacienda a great central point for many activities. Motorcycle riders
enjoy scenic panoramas while Hikers can enjoy the many trails in the Sandias
and Jemez Mountains. Gamblers have easy access to Native American
Casinos. Both the Turquoise Trail and the Jemez Trail are just around
the corner along with Chaco Canyon, Bandelier Indian Ruins and Acoma Sky
City.
Hacienda Vargas offers
seven guest rooms
featuring traditional adobe work, exposed vigas, Kiva fireplaces and
furnished with antiques. Prices range from $89 - $149 and include a
full delicious breakfast!
The Acoma Room features a cozy
atmosphere, a double bed, private bath with miniature antique clawfoot tub
and walk in shower.
The Pinion stands on the site of the old
post office and boasts a massive Kiva fireplace, queen bed, private bath
with full size antique clawfoot tub and shower.
The Pena Room displays a "truth window"
showing original 200 year old adobe
wall, queen bed, twin settee, Kiva wood-burning fireplace, private bath
with full size antique clawfoot tub and shower.
The Kiva Jr. Suite, features a Kiva
wood-burning fireplace, queen bed, twin settee, private bath with skylight
overlooking private Jacuzzi tub and walk in shower. French doors lead
to a courtyard which is home to a 204 year old Elm tree.
The Santa Fe Suite is romantic and
secluded, queen bed, small sitting area, private bath with 100+ year old
bricks, double Jacuzzi tub and gas Kiva fireplace.
The San Felipe and Santa Ana are
two-room suites where you can discover romance and the spirit of the Old
West! Both have queen beds, gas Kiva fireplaces, private baths with
double jacuzzi tubs and walk in showers. Each suite can sleep up to 4.
