In the Carriage Barn

A few steps from the Country House in the Carriage Barn are four country guest rooms. Throughout this building the new wide planked floors and skillfully crafted built-in headboards and shelves are evidence of the newly rebuilt structure, but the exposed rough-hewn barn beams lend it a nostalgic old-barn aura.
 

Decorated with earth tone colors, the Hudson Room has a unique built-in headboard that adapts to a king or twin beds. Terra cotta tiles the bathroom that has an oversized wail-in shower. A little of yesterday is present in the converted whiskey barrel lamp table.
 

The Taconic Room Suite is defined by the four season porch accessed through glass paneled sliding doors. Warmed by a Vermont Casting Stove in winter and cooled by the breezes through the screened windows on warm days, the porch is loved during any season. Another built-in headboard for the queen size bed adds to the efficiency of this suite. A reminder of yesteryear is a 1900’s dresser transformed into the bathroom sink.
 

The country spirit continues in the Columbia Room. Resting on the queen size bed is a duvet cover of whimsical barnyard animals. Blues, yellows and browns color the fabrics used for windows, bed and shower curtain. Notice the early 1900s storage trunk which came from an old house near the Hancock Shaker Village.
 

Red prints and lots of blue dominate the Berkshire Room  fabrics. Facing the Berkshire Mountains, this large room with a queen bed, has a great view of the country farms, fields, and rushing stream. The antique six-board chest brings in a bit of the past.

Room Rates

• Rates vary according to room and season and are based on single or double occupancy.
• There is a $25 surcharge for a third person in a room.
• State and local taxes are additional.
• Off-season and mid-week packages are available.
• Deposits: One or two night stays at Spencertown B&B require a deposit for one night. A stay of three nights or more requires a deposit of 50% or a credit card number.
• Minimum Stay: We require a two-night minimum stay on weekends from June through October and on holiday weekends. Some weekends may carry a three-night minimum.

Executive Retreats & Small Business Meetings

Our Carriage Barn is available for executive retreats and small business meetings. The barn has been completely rebuilt to feature three private guest rooms and a large business meeting suite, the Taconic Room.

The Taconic Room for executive retreats comes fully equipped with a VCR, an overhead projector, a white board, an easel board for flip charts and outlets for computers. The room has a custom designed oval table that comfortably seats 10 people. 

The Taconic Room Rates

• $215 for a full day

• $115 for a half day

• $35 per hour*

*With a two hour minimum reservation
Coffee breaks and on-site coordination are included in the full and half-day fees. There will be an extra charge for these services for hourly rentals.
