How to Reach Us

From Laguardia and JFK Airports and all other parts of Long Island:

Find an exit from the airport that leads you to the Van Wyck Expressway (From JFK) or to the Grand Central Parkway (LGA) heading towards either the Whitestone or the Throgs Neck Bridge. If you're on the Van Wyck, there will be an exit for the Grand Central almost as soon as the traffic has cleared up.

Cross over the Whitestone (toll $3.75) and stay to the left. After the toll follow the signs to the Hutchinson River Parkway, take to Exit 13  Cross County Parkway West. Exit at 4N. The exit will turn you onto Route 100 going north. See BELOW*.

Should you miss the turn off, keep going until you see and exit from Central Avenue to Palmer Road. Take Exit, turn right onto Palmer at the top o f the exit hill and go about 1/2 mile to Sunnybrook Road. Turn right onto Sunnybrook, drive to the stop sign and bear right onto Rockledge. Follow Rockledge all the way to the top of the hill. We will be on your left.

From Connecticut and New England: Take I-95 to its junction with the Cross Westchester Expressway (I-287). You have two options then depending on your assessment of the likely traffic delays on either road. If you prefer the Hutchinson River Parkway, just follow the signs to it, once on it for a while it will split in two.  Do NOT follow signs to the Whitestone Bridge; stay to the left for the Cross County Parkway and go to Exit 4N.  Then follow directions BELOW*

Continued
from previous page:-

Your other alternative is to take 287 to Exit 3 for the Sprain Brook Parkway south (to NYC). From the Sprain take Exit 5 (Central Avenue). The exit forces a right turn onto Central Ave. Go under the overpass and make a right turn before the Gidron Olds-Caddy dealer.

At the light, turn right onto Palmer Road, go 4/10ths of a mile to Sunnybrook Rd. Turn right on Sunnybrook, go to the Stop sign,  and take the right hand fork onto Rockledge Road.  Go all the way up the hill and we are the large house with green shutters on your left.

From Points South and West, Jersey, Washington, Pennsylvania, etc.:
Get yourself to the George Washington Bridge. As you approach the bridge there are express and local lanes. Go for local because it will put you on the lower level of the bridge. Try to stay in the right hand lane of the bridge - even though it may be difficult.

Take the bridge exit for the Major Deegan Exp & 87 North. In a few miles the Deegan becomes the New York State Thruway and the exit numbers will start again at 1. Right after a mall of sorts you will find exit 5; take it. Then see BELOW*.

From Points North:
From Albany you can take either the NY State Thruway or the Taconic State   Parkway (which has no tolls) The exit from the Thruway is 4, and note that coming south, there is no Exit 5.  You exit coming out at a Texaco gas station.  Turn right around the gas station to a traffic light; turn left at the light to cross over the Thruway and left again at the first opportunity.  This will put you on the service road headed north.
See BELOW*.

BELOW*:-  Whether you came from the Thruway or the Cross County Parkway, you are all at about the same place now.

As you drive north, you will see a Getty gas station and a Toys R Us.  Shortly thereafter there is a white retaining wall on your right which slopes down from about ten feet to about two feet.  At the end of that wall there is a fire hydrant.  Immediately after the hydrant there will be a very sharp right turn onto Rutland Road.  Another landmark is a  Steak House on the other side of the road. You do not wish to pull even with it - only the beginnings of its parking lot.  If you catch that turn, take Rutland to the end and turn left onto Rockledge. We will be the 6th house on the right. Large white house with green shutters.

Should you miss the turn off, keep going until you see and exit from Central Avenue to Palmer Road. Take Exit, turn right onto Palmer at the top of the exit hill and go about 1/2 mile to Sunnybrook Road. Turn right onto Sunnybrook, drive to the stop sign and bear right onto Rockledge. Follow Rockledge all the way to the top of the hill. We will now be on your left.

From Sarah Lawrence College

  • Exit Sarah Lawrence at Kimball Avenue.
  • Turn right on Kimball, drive down hill to light.
  • Turn left onto Palmer Road.
  • Look for left onto Sunnybrook Road.
  • Take Sunnybrook to stop sign and bear right onto Rockledge.
  • Take Rockledge all the way to top of the hill.
  • The Villa will be on the left.
