is located in Historic Fuquay-Varina, convenient to

Chapel Hill, Cary, Durham, and Fayetteville.

The Fuquay Mineral Springs Inn and Garden
is located in the heart of the Springs Historic District across from the
Historic Fuquay Mineral Spring Park. The Inn was the home of Dr.Wiley
Cozart and his wife Pauline, both were community minded, and their home
was used for many functions during the 1920’s through to the1970’s.
Dr. Cozart was the Mayor of the town for ten years. Pauline was one of
the community’s finest gardeners and social leaders.
There are around 3,500 properties on the National Register of Historic
Places in Wake County, North Carolina, the Inn is one, but there are
less than 90 that have been designated as Landmarks. This is very
special honor for our Inn.
The Colonial Revival Inn and Carriage House are perched on a hill
overlooking the Mineral Spring with a period Gazebo for quest enjoyment.
Built in 1927 by A Y Hairr local architect and builder, who was noted
for building and designing prominent homes in the region and for also
designing and building the North Carolina State Fair Water Falls.
Guests will be located less than a block from the ole’ town, Fuquay
Springs, for shopping and dining. The Dr. W. S. Cozart built the home in
1927 and expanded it in 1937. The Cozart Family owned and built one of
seven hotels – The Ben Wiley, celebrating the mineral spring.
The craftsman features and custom woodwork are noted throughout the Inn.
Upon entering the Inn on Spring Street, John will greet guests in the
sunroom. In addition to the wildlife art and antiques, noted Hemingway
books and furniture and baseball memorabilia of John’s father – Tommy
Byrne and his Yankee Years can be enjoyed. Guest may browse the years of
the Yankee's dynasty of the 40's and 50's.
The living room accentuates
classical plaster molding, a brass chandelier designed with tassel
motif, and a grand stairway having fluted, classical, Doric columns.
Guests are encouraged to play chess, checkers, or a game of cards in
this room. The Inn features two original painting of International
Wildlife Artist Terry Isaac and two personalized, signed prints from
International Wildlife Artist Robert Bateman on his visit to the
Historic Fuquay Mineral Spring, September 15, 2000.
The garden on the side
and front yards whispers "welcome" by the splashing from the classic fountain
and the
many bird feeders. The
green space is a perfect place for relaxing and quiet times. The gazebo
offers a peaceful location for morning coffee or afternoon tea or wine,
or a place to enjoy the native birds and flowers.

If you are celebrating a special
occasion, such as an anniversary,
birthday, or honeymoon, we offer a
custom
"Romance Package!".

& Receptions, contact us for details.

The Inn is owned and
operated by Innkeepers, John (Mayor of Fuquay-Varina) and Patty (English Teacher
