Windsong is a contemporary log lodge on 24 acres with  breath-taking mountain views, romance and seclusion. Start each morning with our ever-changing and renowned gourmet breakfast served on fine English China with custom blended coffee (or tea). Afterward, there’s plenty, or nothing, to do. You can hike along one of our fascinating forest trails by a stream, take our lab, Mindy, for a walk or play tennis.

You can go on more strenuous hikes in the nearby Smoky Mountain National Park. Or, you can relax in our “hot tub under the stars,” lounge by the pool or just sit on your deck and watch our llamas in the pasture or the hawks circling lazily overhead. There’s plenty of shopping and antiquing to be found in nearby Waynesville, voted the “Best Small Town Main Street in North Carolina.”

Guestrooms at Windsong feature queen beds, private baths, wood-burning fireplaces and tubs for two. Each has a unique decorating motif. There’s the exotic Safari Room (a honeymoon favorite), Santa Fe Room, Alaska Room, Country Room and ever-so-peaceful Garden Room.

Innkeepers Russ and Barbara Mancini settled here after living in various places from the Pacific to the Atlantic as well as more than a dozen years in Bavaria, London, Berlin, and Budapest. They have put together a unique blend of European, African, Southwestern and Alaskan art and antiques. In addition to the Main Inn, there is the Pond Lodge with 2-bedrooms suites with a full kitchen, great for families or those wanting complete privacy. An extensive continental breakfast is provided to Pond Lodge guests.

Feature articles about Windsong Mountain Inn have appeared in dozens of guide books, the New York Times, Southern Living, National Geographic Traveler, Fodor’s Nights to Imagine, Log Home Living, Log Homes Illustrated, many newspapers, BBC Television and several airline in-flight magazines.

Cancellation Policy: 7 or 14 days notice required, depending on season.
