Two historic properties on historic Norwood Avenue...
a Greek Revival Mansion and a Queen Anne Styled Victorian.

Experience Edgewood Manor, Providence, Rhode Islands most luxurious Bed and Breakfast. Our historic Greek Revival Mansion, circa 1905, is elegantly appointed with exquisite antiques and fabulous artwork. Edgewood Manor offers beautiful bedrooms, magnificent sitting rooms, and lovely gardens.

Next door is The Charles Newhall House, circa 1892, a wonderful shingled style Victorian which has been lovingly restored with seven beautiful guestrooms, all decorated with Victorian and Empire furnishings.

In 1905, Samuel Priest, a wealthy businessman, commissioned this three story Greek Revival Mansion. Acquired in 1994 and restored to it's original grandeur, this 18-room mansion boasts of five ornate fireplaces and stunning leaded and stained-glass windows.

Guestrooms and common areas are superbly furnished with period antiques and fine art. Each guestroom offers a private bath and cable television. Rooms with fireplaces and lavish whirlpool tubs are also available.

Features:

Breakfast is served daily in the two dining rooms and/or on the outdoor patio (weather permitting). To further enhance your stay in Rhode Island, luncheon and dinner suggestions are readily available to our guests. The Providence and Newport, RI areas are privy to some of the finest restaurants in New England.

Afternoon tea is served from 3:30 to 5:30pm in our library.

Louis 14th Style room is an available sitting room for our guests to relax and read or congregate and boasts of a magnificent domed ceiling intricately carved and pilastered with gilt highlights.

Newhall House
A beautiful Queen Anne Shingled Style Victorian built in 1892 is located next door. This property as well as the whole street has been recently placed on the National Historic Register. Rooms are elegantly appointed and fabulously decorated with wonderful art and antiques. Cost of rooms range from $109 to $229 a night. How to Find Us:

From the Airport
Take a right out of the Airport onto Route 1A (Post Road). Stay on this road for approximately three miles until it ends. Turn left onto Narragansett Parkway/becomes Broad Street and continue for one mile. Turn left onto Norwood Avenue. We are on the left. Please ring the front doorbell at 232 Norwood Avenue. Parking is in the rear of the building.

From points North
95 South to Rhode Island. Once in Rhode Island take exit 22B Route 6 west/10 South. Take 10 South until it ends. Take left onto Park Ave(Rt. 12). Follow Park Ave. to end, go left onto Broad St. Take left onto Norwood Ave. 232 Norwood Ave will be on your left (parking is in the rear of the building).

From points South
Take 95 North to Rhode Island. Once in Rhode Island, take Exit 14-15. As you exit for 14-15, take 14-A and follow signs for Post Road North. Take Post Road North until you come to the end. Turn left on Narragansett Pkwy and you will drive through Historic Pawtuxet Village. The name of the road changes to Broad Street. Continue on Broad Street for one mile. Take left onto Norwood Avenue. 232 Norwood will be on your left. Parking is in the rear of the building.

Cancellation Policy:
If a cancellation is necessary 14 days or less before your arrival, you will be charged for the full amount of the reservation unless we are able to re-book the room. Some holiday weekends require 30 day notice of cancellation.

There will be a $25 administration fee on all cancelled reservations, regardless of two-weeks notice or not. Two or more nights, a $50 cancellation fee will be applicable. Three or more nights, 10% of the reservation will be applicable.
