Driving up the tree-lined road
will remind you of "Gone With the Wind."

In 2002, the Innkeepers, Harold and Patricia Frish,
purchased and remodeled the home for use as a small Bed & Breakfast. The home is
a stunning setting for teas and receptions, both inside and out. A forty-foot
ballroom and an equally large arched entrance hall with winding staircase are
ideal backgrounds for bridal pictures. The ballroom is brightened by eight
windows adorned by antique cornices from the circa 1854 Lace House, the
governor's mansion in Columbia.
Harold and Patricia have a passion for Europe and have chosen to style the
home after the manner of a small European guesthouse or "pension" with all
continental amenities. Furnishings are an eclectic mix of fine European and
American antique and classical furniture. Honeysuckle Acres has two
guest rooms available for lodging with the
possibility of a third connected as a suite with a shared bath. Cable TV is
available in the two main bedrooms. Turn down bed service, imported chocolates
on your pillow, and imported waters are provided.
Enjoy
gourmet breakfasts every morning with the possibility of
Epicurean picnic baskets to bring on your forays into the countryside. You will
wake each morning to the aroma of fresh baked breads or muffins and fresh-brewed
coffee served outside your room.

Living Areas:
Honeysuckle Acres is
a serene retreat from telephones, televisions, and computers. We provide board
games, puzzles, and lawn games such as croquet, bocce, and badminton. You may
sit on the front porch sipping refreshments, stroll through the gardens, relax
in front of the outdoor fireplace or read a book in either the gazebo or the extensive library in front of the fireplace.
Our books are available for you to
plunge into, and they run the gamut from history and sports through philosophy
and religion with numerous stops in between. If you must, there is a television,
VCR, DVD, and cable available in the library. The barbecue gas grills and the picnic area are available for your use.
If you visit Honeysuckle Acres in the spring, you will be treated to the lovely
blooms of the Spirea that grow
beneath the trees. Previous owners of the property include prominent Winnsboro
and South Carolina families. During the Revolutionary War, the commander of the
British forces, Lord Cornwallis,
chose to garrison his troops in Winnsboro. In fact, he gave Fairfield County its
name when he looked across the fields nearby and remarked, "My, what fair fields
these are."

The Innkeepers:
Harold and Patricia Frish
are a "fifty something" couple who were high school sweethearts. They are proud
parents of two grown children with five grandchildren. They recently moved to
South Carolina from the Chicago area where Harold retired
as a firefighter/paramedic after thirty years. They have always loved to travel
and have a passion for history, music, art, and antiques. Many of the decorative
items in the inn have been brought back from their trips to Europe. They have
the distinction of having all five of their grandchildren born in Europe. Their
daughter is a classical violinist and lives in Italy with her Italian husband
and their three children. Their son is a NCO in the US Army who was stationed in
Germany with his wife when their two children were born.
Harold and Patricia's home has always been
open to both friends and international guests and students. Harold
developed his cooking skills over the firehouse stove. Patricia's
decorating ability allowed her to adorn the house herself even to the
point of sewing all the curtains. They are excited about the second half
of their lives, as innkeepers with their first old house in their first
small town. Not being from the South they cannot boast of Southern
Hospitality, but they can offer the charm and elegance of a stay in a
European Guesthouse.

Parties/Receptions:
The fully equipped kitchens are caterer friendly with five sinks, three
refrigerators, four freezers, stainless steel and marble preparation counters,
two microwaves, and a gourmet stove. There is a breakfast room with large
granite counters and electrical service that can be used as a buffet area for
parties. Linens, antique Limoges china, and antique silverware are available for
use. Abundant parking is available
for the party in the paddock on our property, and there is ample space for tents
to be set up on the rolling lawns if you choose to seat your party outdoors. We
have folding chairs, tents, and tables available for your use. The gazebo is electrified and may also be
used.

Wedding Package:
When you visit, we have a complete list of caterers, bartenders, florist, bands,
and photographer available. We require licensed and insured caterers. Your
wedding and/or reception will be in our private home, not a hall. Therefore, you
will have the intimate, personal touches to make your occasion memorable.
Special room rates are available for bridesmaids' slumber parties. Call or visit
for rates.
