A romantic step back into history awaits you when you walk into
this Greek Revival home which has been magnificently converted from
a school-house into a lovely, elegant dwelling filled with
remembrances of travels, antiques, family heirlooms and Oriental
rugs.
Located just off Interstate 40 east of Memphis, The
Bridgewater House is just minutes from Memphis with all of its
picturesque sites. Shelby Farms, the largest city park in the U.S.,
is approximately one mile away; with walking trails, fishing,
horseback riding, sailing and more. Your hosts will be delighted to
share their knowledge and recommendations on local area attractions
and restaurants.
The Bridgewater House offers two spacious rooms with private
baths, which are furnished with luxury linens and down comforters.
Each room features robes, complimentary
beverages, many books and magazines, Brunswick fabrics, luxury
linens, amenities and sitting areas. Turndown service with sweets is
available. Special baskets and arrangements such as flowers,
balloons, etc. can be booked. There are ceiling fans in each room
and central heating and cooling.
Customized Cooking Classes
The Bridgewater House Bed and Breakfast offers Customized Cooking
Classes. There is a minimum requirement of renting 2 rooms for 2
nights for the cooking classes. The classes will feature specialties
of the house as well as requests from participants. Innkeeper
Katherine Mistilis is certified by the American Culinary Federation
as a culinary educator.
Cancellation: We will refund
your deposit if you cancel your reservation at least 7 days prior,
there will be up to a 20% service charge imposed. There is no refund
when canceling within the seven days. We normally require a deposit
of 100% for one night and 50% for more than one night, except for conventions and holidays,
and then we require the entire amount with no refund. There is no
refund for early departure at any time.
Minimum stays:
Minimum stays may
be required during peak periods. We require a two-night minimum stay
on most weekends, and three nights on some holiday weekends.
Directions: To reach The Bridgewater House take Exit 14 (Whitten
Road) off the I-40. Go south on Whitten Road to the 3rd traffic
light (Macon Road). Turn left at the light onto Macon Rd. and
continue to the four way stop (Raleigh LaGrange Road). Turn
right on Raleigh LaGrange Road and go for 1/3 of a mile. Look
for the Bridgewater House sign on your
right
