Adams House was built in 1902 by German immigrants in what is now known
as the King William Historic District. This
soaring three-story brick house, adorned by four large, airy verandahs
wears the beauty and charm of another era. Your visit will be steeped in
history, with all the modern comforts to make your stay pleasant and
memorable. Finely crafted red pine woodwork and 13' ceilings are
featured throughout. Large pocket doors separate the parlor and dining
room, which showcases beautiful wood paneling and china cabinet original
to the house. Adams House is located in the heart of San Antonio's
favorite attractions. You are just a short trolley ride to the Alamo, Convention
Center, Alamodome, Tower of the Americas, Institute of Texan Cultures, La
Villita, Rivercenter Mall, Market Square, and the Spanish Governor's Palace.
Express buses will whisk you to Sea World, Six Flags Fiesta Texas, San Antonio
Missions, Brackenridge Park and Zoo, and several museums.
Directions: From the
NorthWest: (Kerrville, El Paso)
Drive south (marked "east") on I-10 to S. Alamo Street. At the bottom of the
exit ramp, turn left. Go to the 6th traffic light, counting the light at the
bottom of the exit. Turn right onto Adams. Drive
to the end of the second block. The Adams House is number 231, on the right, at the corner of
Adams and Stieren.
