Briar Patch Bed & Breakfast is a historic farm (circa 1805) on 47 rolling acres with majestic mountain views in Middleburg – the heart of Virginia horse, wine, and antiques country. Conveniently located on Route 50, Briar Patch is just 20 minutes from Dulles Airport and 45 minutes from Washington, DC.

Stay in one of our 8 antique-decorated rooms in the 200 year old main house or in our cozy one-bedroom cottage. Sit on our front veranda overlooking the Bull Run Mountains while sipping Virginia wine, reading a book, or viewing the horses grazing in our fields.

Swim in our large pool or soak in our hot tub year round. Learn of the Civil War Battle of Haystacks fought on Briar Patch land.

Area attractions include hiking, biking, horseback riding, tennis, golf, scenic drives, visiting wineries, antiquing, and eating in the area's fine restaurants. We also host events such as weddings, company retreats and picnics, family reunions, and other festive occasions.

Deposit, Payment Methods, and Cancellation Policies:

A single night's stay deposit is required upon reservation, preferably by credit card although a personal check is acceptable. Final payment is due upon departure.

Deposit is returned if notice is given 10 days or more prior to arrival date. If notice is given less than 10 days before the arrival date, the deposit is forfeited unless we are able to re-book the room(s) or you wish to apply it to a future stay. No shows (cancellations without notice) will be charged the entire amount of the reserved stay.

Directions from Washington, DC:
Take Route 66 West past the 495 beltway. Take Fair Oaks/Winchester Exit #57B onto Route 50 west and stay on Route 50 for 20 miles. Pass through the town of Aldie. Briar Patch is the first farm on the right after you leave Aldie. Turn right onto Briar Patch Lane.

Directions from Dulles Airport:
Take 267 exit (Centreville) off Dulles airport road. Exit onto Route 28 to Route 50. Take exit to Route 50 West (Winchester). Take 50 West and pass through the town of Aldie. Briar Patch is the first farm on the right after you leave Aldie. Turn right onto Briar Patch Lane.
